Business leaders must be good decision makers. There is an exact and simple formula for making any and every decision and an art to making critical decisions. The successful leader has mastered both. The process of knowing how to make good personal, individual decisions can transfer into the business arena. However, if we are really good at this, why do so many businesses fail? Why do well intentioned, capable people make horrible choices? Perhaps there is a conflict between intuition, cognitive bias and moral strength. Today’s presentation will focus on the importance of the individual in the decision-making process including the use of a take-away exercise that you can use immediately for your next critical decision either personal or for your business.
Program Presenter: J. Barry Gasaway
J. Barry Gasaway is an entrepreneur with an extensive background in professional training and consulting. In the corporate world he has developed and facilitated workshops and seminars while employed by ATT, Xerox, Tandy and Iomega corporations. As an instructor and counselor for the Ohio Foundation for Entrepreneur Education he worked with start-up companies to launch new ventures and expand existing ones. During that same period, he was a guest lecturer at Franklin University’s MBA program in Marketing. Founder and President of Noelle’s Chocolates, Inc. he spent 25 years developing new products for large national chain stores like Kroger, Walgreens, CVS, WalMart, Sam’s Club and Costco. He pioneered a series of Private Label healthy chocolates working closely with the Innovations groups at Mars and Barry Callebaut. More recently he founded Your Better Path, LLC and has developed a series of workshops focused on helping people to make better life choices. Mr. Gasaway holds a Social Science and Psychology degree from West Liberty University. He is a current member of the Granville Chapter of AmSpirit Business Connections.
